Etched & Carved Glass

Etched glass is the process of creating a stencil rubber resist, applying it to the surface of the glass/object and then with a high pressure blasting pot, spray aluminum oxide onto the glass.  The areas that are exposed gets chipped away, leaving a frosted look.  This can be left as is or painted to add color. We offer a wide variety of etched items.  We have a large selection of "stock" etching designs or we can create custom designs to fit your needs.  We create all of our resist in house and can usually create templates from your logo or find the perfect image for your items.   Because of the labor and material costs, minimum quantities are required depending on design & size. Custom design fees are $35 per hour.    Please call or e-mail us for a quote.   Quantity Price Discounts

Custom Etching Setup Fees $15 - Graphic supplied to us in black & white line art in electronic format. $35 - Graphic supplied to us in black & white line art in printed format. $35 / hour - custom designs created by our in-house designers.

Etching prices are based on a square inch price:

Etched

For etched glass, figure 50 cents per inch as a general rule.  Again, if the piece is complex it will require more time and work, therefore cost a little more. (Etched is a one-time surface etch.)  Tempered glass must be etched - it cannot be carved or multi-stage etched.  Computer design and setup fees for custom etched designs are at $35 per hour, minimum of one hour.  Stock designs do not require a setup fee - only minimums (how many images will fit on an 8 1/2" x 14" paper).

Carved

For carved/multi-stage etched glass pieces, figure around $1 per inch.  This is assuming standard double strength glass.  There is an additional charge for thicker glass or for the tempering process after it has been carved (for safety glass ratings).  Safety laminated glass is good for this when safety is a factor.

FRAM-1006 Stained glass borders, center is open around diamond bevel.	FRAM-1007 Stained glass borders with different color corners, frosted glass around center diamond bevel. (Inside area can be left open)
FRAM-1008 Stained glass border with etch frosted glass around diamond bevel.	FRAM-1009 Stained glass border around a 3x3 bevel in center.  Lead assembly with zinc frame.
FRAM-3001 Clear ripple glass border with etched corners around clear glass center.	FRAM-3002 Stained glass frame around clear glass center.
FRAM-3006 Stained glass border with offset corners and inset clear glass.  Space between the clear glass and border is open.	1. Choose frame style or dimensions of glass. 2. Choose glass colors. 3. Choose etching. 4. Any additional options. Please call for additional options.

You must be a non-profit organization or a retailer with a reseller license to qualify for quantity discounts.
